Despite the weather temperature and snow conditions we started our trek to California. We traveled on HWY 2 to the 540, then to 22 to 3, which ran with 93, and then to 95 to Cranbrook BC for the night.
Crowsnest Past had many areas where they were clearing the roads of vehicles, semi trucks, trailers and vehicles which were hard to make out what they were.
I counted 31 different vehicle types they were removing or still had to remove. We got lucky and pulled up when our side of traffic was being escorted through the wreckage. So no real wait.
Many times on the trip it was so hard to determine where the lines were because of the snow mist that covered the road.
Once we arrived in Cranbrook are task was:
1. Find a Liquor Store .
2. Find a Hotel that is close to food places and could accommodate our 38 foot RV and Truck.
Finding a Hotel took the longest to find.
Finally after driving through town twice and stopping at several ones before we found a Travelodge. Not one we normally would stay in, but it had a large parking lot behind the Motel and right next to Mcdonalds.
We are fed, watered and relaxing for tomorrow’s trip.
Pic of our rig for the night. This was taken looking out our room window.
